OCTOBER
TOP 10
Destinations
From exploring Madagascar to snorkelling in the paradise waters of the Seychelles and Mauritius, there’s a rich choice of things to do and places to visit in October. You could head to the Middle East – perhaps to Jordan, discovering the magic of Petra and it’s fantastic landscapes or to Morocco to explore the souks, bazaars and the beautiful blue city of Chefchaouen.
October is also a wonderful month to sample the culinary delights of India, or explore Bhutan for fascinating festivals, and fantastic views of the mountains.
As winter approaches Europe and the Northern hemisphere is getting colder, many people in the autumn and winter months travel further afield in search of warmer countries or places to visit just for a weekend – In October, Seville will be my favourite one.
A popular destination to visit in Europe is Cyprus, a beautiful island in the Eastern Mediterranean, currently divided between two nationalities, Greek and Turkish, you can enjoy warm and sunny days, sightseeing and fantastic beaches on the east side of the island. In the Seychelles you will find gorgeous temperatures, and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, it’s a perfect destination for anyone seeking an unspoilt island paradise.

The best time to visit Morocco is during spring (mid-March to May) or fall (September to October). The North African country is an electric destination with something for everyone. From exploring the Blue Streets of Chefchaouen to relaxing in the beautiful beaches of Essaouira, from spending a fantastic overnight in the Sahara Desert to visiting the Tanneries in Fez and Casablanca's Mosque. You will fall in love with Morocco.

An unforgettable journey through the lands of Jordan, on an adventure full of surprises. September is one of the best months to explore Jordan after the hot summer months. Petra is one of the most stunning things I’ve ever seen, make sure you have enough time because the site is huge. The red colour of the mountains is just amazing. After Petra another fantastic location is Wadi Rum Desert, where you can stay overnight into the Bedouin Campsites in the middle of the desert. Enjoy the sunset in the evening and the fabulous sky full of stars in the night.

Stunning and unspoiled, the Seychelles archipelago is an irresistible island escape where some of the best beaches in the world combine with extraordinary natural beauty. The larger islands of the Seychelles Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue are the most developed for tourists. On the north shore of Praslin Island, Anse Lazio (Chevalier Bay) is one of the Seychelles' most beautiful beaches. You have to hike over a hill to access the beach, but it's worth the effort.
SEYCHELLES

The best time to visit Tanzania is from July to October when the country is at its driest. Is a great time to see the Migration, in the north of the Serengeti NP moving toward Kenya, and elephants start to gather in Tarangire NP. Many travellers will combine the wildebeest migration with a trip in the fantastic beaches of Zanzibar. Zanzibar is without a doubt a dream beach destination, an ideal place to get away and relax.

On the Pacific coast of Mexico there are other two beautiful areas to explore, Sayulita & Baja California Sur. An hour north of Puerto Vallarta,, Sayulita is a sleepy fishing village turned vacation hot spot, especially among travellers looking for a distinctive Mexican beach experience away from the resorts. Sand, sun, palm trees and playa. There is rarely a day that isn’t a beach day in Sayulita. In the Gulf of California, Baja California Sur is another fantastic area to discover, in Cabo San Lucas, Lovers Beach is one of Mexico’s most famous beaches,

Seville is one of Spain’s most beautiful cities in my opinion, visiting Seville means discovering a very rich architectural and historical legacy, but also diving into the Spanish culture, with tapas, sangria and flamenco. The best time to visit Seville is from March to May or after September, during these months the temperatures are mild. In Summer time the temperatures are extremely hot. Seville is the birthplace of Flamenco, make sure to watch a show in “El Palacio Andaluz”, really cool thing to do. The most famous attraction of the city is the Alcázar of Seville, really worth a visit. My favourite place to visit in the city is the famous Plaza de España, this is simply the most beautiful square I have ever seen.

October is the height of spring in Bolivia. If you want to avoid the crowds of winter, this is a fantastic time to visit, as there is still plenty of dry, sunny weather everywhere from the depths of the Amazon to the heights of the Andes. The Salar de Uyuni is one of the most stunning and surreal sights to visit. Another fantastic places to visit in the Andes is the Lake Titicaca.

You can definitely travel to Cyprus in the quieter winter months, in October the temperature still reach 25-26°C. Home of fabulous beaches of Ayia Napa on the east side of the Island, this island is perfect for a winter break. The island is the perfect size for exploring, full of history, ancient archaeological sites to visit and charming old towns to explore.

The weather is cool and dry, making this a comfortable time to explore. The Avenue of the Baobabs is one of the most famous pictures you see of Madagascar, this road lined with those massive trees can be found just an hour outside Morondava. Nosy Be is the place to go for best beaches in the country, a tropical island paradise (the only downside are the expensive restaurants and big resorts).

Visiting Bhutan in September, October and November is ideal for hiking. Trekking is a wonderful way to see the beautiful scenery of this wonderful, little-visited country. These months offer the best weather for mountain walks and overnight stays in characterful teahouses. Two of the most visited places of the country are Tiger’s Nest Monastery aka Taktsang Monastery and Buddha Dordenma sight.
