AUGUST

TOP 10

Destinations

August is peak holiday season in most European countries, as it’s one of the few times of the year when people can take a week or two off from work and also it’s when so many places are hot, crowded, filled with tourists, and prices are crazy expensive. If you’re looking for good weather and plenty of history then Europe and the warm waters of the Mediterranean sea is where you want to go. South Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal and Croatia are perfect holidays if you fancy a beach break or a cruise trip, my favourite places to visit in August? Sardinia and every islands of Greece.
If you’re looking for something a little different, then Alaska and Greenland provides a perfect, icy landscape and cosy cold weather. Snowboarding, hiking and skiing will be the order of the day. Iceland is another great location to visit in August, green spaces, hot springs, volcanoes and beautiful mountains will be a different scenario from a beach holiday. Other great locations include New Zealand, Australia, Argentina and Chile, if you’re looking for an escape from the summer heat! For wildlife enthusiasts, you will find fantastic safari opportunities across Africa.

One of the best sea and beaches I have seen in my life, the number one in Europe and probably on the top 5 in the world, everywhere you go around the island, you will be amazed by the spectacular landscape and colours of the water that you will see. Situated in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, Sardinia is a mainly mountainous region, more than 80% of its territory is mountainous and hilly, the rest of the is occupied by fabulous beaches.

Croatia is an incredible country to explore, has a little bit of everything, from beautiful islands, historic cities and 1,778 kilometres of spectacular Mediterranean coastline. From the historic Dubrovnik city walls to the beautiful sounds of the sea organ in Zadar, exploring the ancient palace built for the Roman Emperor Diocletian the “Diocletian’s Palace” in Split, partying in the island of Pag, swim in the beautiful island of Hvar and Brač or exploring the gorgeous parks of Plitvice Lakes and Krka National Park, Croatia is full of charm and adventure.

As a Mediterranean country Greece is known for its warm weather for most of the year. July and August are the most crowed months of the year and are extremely hot especially in Athens. Greece is one of my favourite countries in the world, I just love it, since our first trip to Greece in 2010, I visited this country eleven times, you have so much choice and a completely different scenery in every place you go. It is a country known for its history, amazing people, sun, sea, so many islands with fantastic beaches, tasty and quality food products. The landscapes are fantastic, there are breath-taking sunsets (especially in Santorini), ancient monuments and immaculate coastlines.

There isn’t a best time to visit Brazil, it’s a year-round destination, the warmer months of the year are also the wettest. May to August are the best times to visit Brazil due to the comfortable temperatures and lack of rain. Explore Rio de Janeiro, May is a perfect month to enjoy sightseeing throughout the city and quality beach time in Copacabana. Go wildlife crazy in the Pantanal. Cruise through the Amazon river. Discover the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls, where you can only walk above the cascades, while the Argentina side allows you to cruise upriver.

BRAZIL

One of the best months to visit Ibiza if you love beach party. One of the most famous, scenic, and popular islands in the Mediterranean sea, the island’s size is relatively small, you can drive everywhere in less than 30-40 minutes. Ibiza is well known for its wild nightlife, but there are also plenty of other exciting things to do during the day, from exploring and relaxing in the gorgeous beaches, hiking to the top of Sant Josep de sa Talaia for an amazing view, to discovering and doing some shopping in the many hippie markets around the island.

In Queensland you will enjoy a tropical climate with warm-hot weather for most of the year. Queensland is Australia's most popular vacation destination. Golden beaches, idyllic tropical islands, fantastic surf breaks, rainforests, rivers, reefs, and waterfalls, what else do you need! The dazzling Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef are something unique. Fraser Island is another paradise to discover. From the capital, Brisbane, you can reach in around an hour the surfing beaches of the Gold and Sunshine Coasts.

While Iceland has seen an explosion of tourists eager to visit its many natural wonders, the neighbouring island of Greenland is just starting to become a popular destination for adventurous travellers. Because Greenland has no roads or trains between towns, you'll want to fly directly to the city you wish to visit. Some of the most popular outdoor activities for Greenland visitors include hiking, skiing, glaciers, mountains, wildlife, and visit the coastal villages.

GREENLAND

An attractive island in the middle of the Mediterranean sea full of charm. A small archipelago between Sicily, Greece and North Africa. The most popular and beautiful beach is in the island of Comino, a tiny island located between Malta and Gozo island, the Blue Lagoon, a stunning lagoon with turquoise water. Another of my favourite place of Malta is Café Del Mar, the sunset by the pool is one of the most beautiful view you will see in the island.

Home of the Golden Gate Bridge, the most famous bridge in the world, San Francisco is a stunning city to explore for few days. Another of the city’s most popular attractions is the Fisherman’s Wharf, also home to PIER 39, a festive waterfront marketplace that is home of a community of California sea lions. More attractions of the city are the famous Cable Car that can be used to go around the city and Alcatraz.
