JULY

TOP 10

Destinations

Europe is buzzing, July is practically the perfect month to visit the continent as the climate across most of its countries is simply perfect and the cities are buzzing with things to do. Everywhere from big cities and parks to seaside villages and islands, will be great, my favourite place to visit in July? Sicily.
This is a good time to head to the Balearic Islands for long days on the beach, explore the beauty of South Italy and if you are visiting Tuscany, the Palio of Siena, one of Europe’s most spectacular pageants and Italy’s most famous historical horse race, takes place on the 2nd July in the Piazza del Campo in Siena.
You might think it was all about Europe in July, and while the continent is glorious at this time of year, this is also prime time in some area of Asia, Borneo and Indonesia are ideal holidays in July as well, or head to the east coast of Sri Lanka to relax under palm trees and enjoy excellent swimming conditions compared with the monsoon season in its western parts. For something different, a trip in Madagascar can be done as well. Some of the best places to go in July are where the days are longest: the Arctic, Nordics, Alaska and Scotland, where those countries are under almost 24 hours of sunlight.

Perfect time to enjoy Sicilian sun. Sicily is the biggest island in Italy and in the Mediterranean Sea, an amazing land rich in history and traditions. Sicily is home of some of the most spectacular coastal towns and beaches of the country, it’s the perfect destination for an all-in trip, as there is something for everyone, from the sea to the mountains and the countryside, from the volcanoes to the fishing villages, there are really many reasons why you should plan a trip to Sicily.

A trip in Spain during summer months is almost a must if you live in Europe. Minorca is one of the Balearic Islands located in the Mediterranean Sea, it’s very well known for its endless beaches and beautiful coastline. Minorca is a paradise for beach lovers. It’s quieter and less developed than its neighbour, Mallorca. Cala Macarelleta and Calas Mitjana are two of the most beautiful beaches of the island.

A gorgeous country, where there are amazing places to visit in just 100 km of distance. Postojna Cave, a magnificent cave formations 24km long and two million years old in the south of Slovenia, and the nearby Predjama Castle, the largest cave castle in the world, today the home of a colony of bats. Slovenia’s capital, Ljubljana is compact, you easily walk everywhere, very fascinating with dragons in every corner of the city, beautiful bridges and so much life with many cafes and restaurants along the Ljubljanica river. A visit to Slovenia would not be complete without a visit to Lake Bled, just 50 mins north of Ljubljana, with its castle on the hill, a pretty island to visit with short hiking trails.

Milos is one of the volcanic Greek islands, sitting at the southern part of the Cyclades islands. Thanks to its volcanic origin, Milos boasts a magnificent colourful landscape and a coastline with plenty of fantastic beaches. The variety of landscapes in Milos is unreal- you’ll see nothing twice, there’s always something new to discover. Sarakiniko beach has one of the most stunning landscapes you will see in a beach! It is the most photographed spot of the island and is also considered one of the most beautiful Greek beaches. Kleftiko beach, Fyriplaka beach and Fyropotamos beach are another popular beaches in the island.

The best time to visit Tanzania is from July to October when the country is at its driest. Is a great period to see the Migration, in the north of the Serengeti NP moving toward Kenya, and elephant start to gather in Tarangire NP. Many travellers will combine the wildebeest migration with a trip in the fantastic beaches of Zanzibar. Zanzibar is without a doubt a dream beach destination, an ideal place to get away and relax.

Cornwall is one of the UK’s favourite summer destinations, home of fantastic landscape that you will never think you are in England. I love this part of UK, it has dramatic coastlines, beautiful huge sandy beaches, pretty harbour villages and you can walk for hours along the coastal paths. Two of my favourite places to visit are Portheras Cove and Pedn Vounder Beach, hidden gems still not very well known by tourists.

Some of the best beaches are Calvi and Loto in the north and Palombaggia and Pinarello in the south. The south coast of the island is very similar to the north coast of Sardinia. Stunning seaside scenery, it is a paradise for beach lovers, hikers, and outdoor sports enthusiasts.

Thanks to its location, close to the equator, French Polynesia has a fairly consistent 30°C temperature year round with the slightly cooler, drier, months of June-Aug considered high season. Five archipelagos, 130 islands scattered across the Pacific, one of the most exotic destinations on Earth that every traveller dream to visit at least once in their lifetime.

The weather is cool and dry, making this a comfortable time to explore. Visiting Madagascar in June and July is perfect for watching baby lemurs and humpback whales on Ile Sainte-Marie. The Avenue of the Baobabs is one of the most famous pictures you see of Madagascar, this road lined with those massive trees can be found just an hour outside Morondava. Nosy Be is the place to go for best beaches in the country, a tropical island paradise (the only downside are the expensive restaurants and big resorts).
