One of the best places to get away from the winter in Europe is Mexico, it has a delicious combo of top class beach hotels, beautiful ancient sites and delicious food. The southern half of the world has some sunny peaks this time of the year, anywhere in Latin America has an excellent climate in December, whether you are looking for beaches with warm Caribbean waters or exploring the jungle of Costa Rica.
This is also the month to enjoy snowy Christmas markets across the northern Europe cities, and perfect time to hunting the Northern Lights. You could celebrate New Year in New York, Time Square is the venue for the traditional countdown to midnight or if you’ve ever imagined yourself spending your Christmas Day enjoying a beach barbecue, there is no better place than a festive escape to Sydney. The New Year’s Eve fireworks at the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House are one of the most famous around the world.

Most of the traditional Lappish activities involve snow, so you’ll need to go from December till mid April to experience all.
